Grandparents and Kinship Caregivers
If you’re raising a grandchild, niece, nephew or another family member’s child, there’s help available. Kinship Support Services from Arizona’s Children Association offers:
- Support groups and classes
- Help with legal paperwork
- Assist with applying for benefits like AHCCCS, food assistance and more
The Arizona Department of Child Safety also provides information on financial help and local resources for kinship families.

Support for Teen Parents
Parenting can be challening—especially when you’re also finishing school. If you’re a teen parent, there are free programs that can help you raise a happy, healthy child.
You may qualify for home visits from someone trained to support young parents. They’ll meet you where you are—literally—and help with things like:
- Baby care basics
- Child development
- Positive parenting
- Setting goals for yourself and your future
