About FTF. Created by Arizona voters, First Things First partners with families and communities to help our state’s young children be ready for success in kindergarten and beyond.
Grants. First Things First invests in strategies and programs that support the development, health and learning of children from birth to age 5 (before kindergarten).
Get Involved. First Things First partners with families and communities to give all Arizona children the opportunity to arrive at kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed.
The FTF Hualapai Tribe Regional Council funds the home visitation strategy which offers individualized support to parents of young children.
The FTF Navajo Nation Regional Council funds the Growing in Beauty program to offer individualized support to parents of young children.
The FTF Gila River Indian Community Regional Partnership Council funds the Well Child Family Care program to provide support to teen parents.
The FTF Graham/Greenlee Regional Council funds the Healthy Families program to offer individualized support to parents of young children.
The FTF Cochise Regional Partnership Council funds Parents as Teachers, a home visitation program that provides in-home parent coaching.
The FTF Cocopah Tribe Regional Partnership Council funds the a program designed to promote health and reduce obesity in young children in the region.
The Nurse-Family Partnership program provides regular visits by trained nurses starting in early pregnancy through the child’s second year.
“I started planning their day and learned how to use positive redirection and how to make every moment a teachable moment,” Tiffany Vaz said.
After spending a year attending story time at the center, Gabby Martinez said she is confident that Julian will be ready for kindergarten.
