Federal, state, and local policymakers propose or consider numerous measures each year that could have an impact on early childhood development and health programs and services. In addition, FTF regional councils or staff, in the course of their programmatic and system building work, may identify public policy opportunities or challenges. The Committee advises FTF staff so that FTF may provide timely feedback on potential and pending legislation, as well as participate in and\/or direct efforts to ensure the effective development and implementation of early childhood public policy.<\/p>\n<h2>Membership<\/h2>\n<p>The Committee shall consist of at least three members, including the Board Chairperson as an <em>ex officio<\/em> member. The Board Chairperson shall appoint the other members of the Committee and shall appoint the Chairperson of the Committee. One seat on the Committee may be filled by a former voting Board member with expertise or interest in public policy.
